Almost all G-Shocks are water resistant and have a stopwatch feature, countdown timer, and a backlight. The first G-Shock was the DW-5000C, it had a 10-year battery life and was able to survive a 10-meter fall onto a hard surface. From then, Casio started to release more G-shock models including the Baby-G series for women and the G-Shock Mini for people who have smaller wrists. By the 1990s Casio sold over 19 million G-Shocks worldwide.
