What's ROBO-ONE?

ROBO-ONE is a robot competition for bipedal humanoid robots. The first ROBO-ONE contest was in 2002 and consisted of two judged stages. The first stage was the "Demonstration" stage where every Robot showed off their skills. This was then followed by one-on-one matches. Since then, ROBO-ONE has started a lot of other robot contests all over the world. 

This year the 33rd ROBO-ONE contest will be held on September 23rd, 2018 in Kanagawa Prefecture. 

What are the rules?

The rules have evolved over time as the ability of the robots has improved and continually change almost every year. The ROBO-ONE committee normally publishes them two months before each competition begins. However, the main rule in winning the fight never changes.
